First message for me on my first blog.
Why a blog, not to be like everyone else or exhibit my life. I do it for people who intend to make part of their training abroad and to give news to my friends parties here and there, in Sweden, Russia etc.. Yes, I know what will happen to my buddy Johan
party in Tomsk with another dude
Yann ...
Do not look in this blog my calendar every day, but the highlights of this adventure.
To begin, I will try to introduce myself. My name
Emeric, from Alsace, I am a student in an engineering school, ESISAR, the only school of Grenoble INP delocalized Valencia in the Drôme (in Lyon). I realized two years of preparation and two years of integrated engineering curriculum to specialize in computer and networks before they have to make a crucial choice for my final year of study: To go or not go ...
Sure, the answer is contained in the title of this blog. The idea from Valencia did not make me afraid, unlike me, who does not come from this region and who likes to move ... 4 years is a long time in one place!
In fact the real choice was from where.
almost all destinations are possible. The world except Africa, only continent not agree with the INP Grenoble. Yep, ESISAR has'm very small, being part of a large group still good.
A short summary of options is needed.
Sure, there are all the Erasmus destinations (Spain, Germany, Sweden, England etc. Etc.) But belonging to the network greatly facilitates
Cluster departures.
The consortium includes the following universities: UPC Universitat Politecnica
* de Catalunya, Barcelona (Spain) *
TUD Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) *
TUE Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (Netherlands) *
INPG Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (France) *
TKK Helsinki University of Technology (Finland) *
Uka Fredericiana Universität Karlsruhe (TH, Germany) ) *
EPFL Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland)
* IST Instituto Superior Tecnico, Lisbon (Portugal)
* Imperial College London (United Kingdom)
* UCL Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium) *
KTH Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, Stockholm (Sweden) *
Polito Politecnico di Torino (Italy)
And the 4 universities "associate members"
* Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia)
* Tsinghua University, Beijing (China)
* Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal (Canada)
* Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) It is also possible to secure from the USA with the example of
Alexis last year.
To leave, the main constraints are: the agreement of the University of departure (Esisar), a good educational level and English (at least 750 TOEIC TOEFL see for USA, Canada Japan, the Australia and Imperial College London) and motivation ... because the road is long.
Personally, I really like Canada and the Anglophone countries. So I looked at how to go in these destinations. (No, the Alsace is not German, I would not go to Germany !!!). Sweden I also liked very much, the stories of friends who were there in previous years is very persuasive. The Imperial College London
pleased me very much. There are very few places for students like me and need to pass the TOEFL discouraged me.
Sweden with KTH offers courses à la carte deals to find housing, etc.. It was
(Almost) decided I was going to ask Sweden.
But a week before making the file one line struck me that I had not even noticed me as this country (I thought at the time), familiar and the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne .
So I had two wishes, KTH Stockholm and EPFL Lausanne.
Then comes another question: Do
an exchange of six months, choose courses at the map and be in tourist mode or do a second degree for parallel with the French engineering degree, follow a course and stay longer.
Both universities offered me, a former student of the Esisar having managed the feat to the KTH Diploma (diploma in Swedish) in 1 year by taking accelerated courses of languages.
I'm not too good at foreign languages, so to speak Swedish fluently: /.
So the choice boiled down to:
KTH exchange or exchange or EPFL EPFL master.
EPFL is very well known globally (much better than the INP, the NHI, Mines etc. .)... and when we see that in France the reputation of the university has a lot to find a job or to continue, this account.
Yes, we do not say, but by Sagem example, a student from INSA Lyon will first pay 200-300 euros more per month on his pay slip from a small Esisarien, just because of the reputation of the school ... short it was decided
Greeting 1: EPFL Master
computer
Wishes 2: KTH, Erasmus
Sure, the two Universities, the course are in English.
