The Boatshed, workplace

Our island dream home a superb hotel for honeymoon, weddings, business trips and leisure stays, the Boatshed . It is terribly true to its name, the place exudes seaside ropes, wicker, white and blue, paddles, miniature boats adorn each room. Designed by renowned architect David Scott, owner of the site's manager and father, Jonathan, this space cozy and unusual contains 7 rooms, all different and a very nice living-dining room overlooking the beach of Oneroa. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and family, it is not uncommon for guests staying a week in this "cottage", as if it could be better elsewhere.

Breakfast and dinner are cooked by the Fijian chief Peter Upton, master of his art. I licks their chops thinking about his grilled mediterranean vegetables, meat tenderness and taste of fish, vision of the alloy of sweet and salty, his mastery of detail, the originality of the ingredients (not even afraid to use pistachio, sugar beet, apricot in entrees !!)... My new hobby? "Hanging in the kitchen" ...

Loïc therefore passes all his evenings in the kitchen, to assist Peter in achieving these great dishes and make the plunge ... Meanwhile, I'm in the laundry room, and I will return! And when all the guests are at dinner, I go into the rooms to prepare them for the night: the bed open, close the curtains, light the candles, put a little soft music all (yes, the same as on the website of the hotel) ... Once sated, our guests have only to go to sleep in this peaceful atmosphere ...

Yesterday Friday we shod our boots for a great walk to the summit of Rainbow Mountain. The advantage of this walk? The 360 view on the volcanic plateau ... Lakes green, blue, hills, a magnificent cliff steaming volcanoes, forests. And the icing on the cake is that we were welcomed by Mr. to monitor the occurrence of fires. now enter our third place wwoofing ... the hotel Golden Springs in Bay of Plenty. We are greeted by two managers, a couple who lived 35 years in Zimbabwe. They organized safaris, walks ... But were forced to leave the country 5 years ago because of the dictator Mugabe. They have invested in a beautiful paradise of 3 hectares.

Once again, we are very well housed: we have a "cabin" very comfortable (Rented $ 100 per night for guests), close to BBQ. And the boss gives us fresh products normally used in the restaurant ... we cook our own way, yummy!

The particularity of the place is a stream of hot water meanders through a beautiful garden ... Recapture to cascade into a small natural spa to 39 degrees. We arrived Sunday night in new hosts: Matt Stockton and Jane and their two small daughters Emily and Isabel. Reception conditions are more than comfortable because we have our own apartment.
